Flying Home for a Birthday Visit

One of my conditions for this second cruising trip was that we fly home at least once. I really missed my family the first time and that trip only lasted 6 months. We planned our visit to coincide with my Father’s 90th birthday. While Kindred Spirit  spent 13 days and 14 nights in Savannah, Al and I were only there for barely 4 days and 5 nights.

The weather was unusually nice for early November in Connecticut and we enjoyed a warm spell. We visited with friends, handled some medical appointments, shopping, and drove through or to 5 states to see everyone. It would have been a perfect visit home if not for an unexpected sadness due to a funeral. We said goodbye to a dear and special family member by marriage.

I didn’t take many photos. Most of the time I just wanted to enjoy the moments with everyone.

There is nothing better than visits with grandchildren!

All three grandchildren had a rare opportunity to spend time together at Great-Grandfather's 90th birthday party.

Our rental car packed for the return. We flew home with one carry-on each, but had so much to bring back (Al's fault totally - he bough back tools!) that we had to check another bag.
