A Day with Addie, Boat Girl!

posted in: Family and Friends | 3

As our grandchildren get older they have become more and more interested in the boat. That works for us! Addison and her Dad, Adam, came to spend a little time on Kindred Spirit while Mommy worked on report cards for her 2nd grade students. We had to slow Addie down a bit because she was ready to do everything on her list at lightening speed.

First, we had to feed the yacht club stripers. Addie cut the hot dogs up in the galley and then fed them to the fish.
Hungry fish. They are always hungry.
Swing time on the playscape.
All aboard!
Adam and Addie enjoyed the aft cockpit after lunch with Addie’s stuffy, Rory the tiger.
Addie went with Papa to fetch the dinghy so we cold all go for a ride.

We stopped at the tiny beach on Pine Island for more play time. I love watching children explore a beach, even a tiny ordinary one like this.

My favorite photo of the day!
There were a few restful moments when I read “The Amazing Adventures of Boat Girl” by Diane Seltzer to Addie. It’s a cute book that teaches a few things about boating and has sweet illustrations.
I really wanted a picture of Addie with Papa and Nana together. It was much too sunny on the bow so the photo is quite comical. I am not going to complain about what a nice sunny day we had together.

It looks like y’all had a great time. We just love having our little ones come and visit. Thanks for sharing that book. I just went on Amazon and ordered on for our little girls. Enjoy your summer.
