Watch Hill Encore

We were back home and Limerick had returned to Sea Cliff. But….. the weather was fabulous, the best of the summer. Limerick decided to come east again to their favorite harbor, Napatree at Watch Hill. We finished our land tasks and headed back out to join them in Napatree for 6 days even though it was Labor Day weekend. And, yes, the anchorage was crowded.

There were the usual number of raft-ups all around the anchorage, but there was no drama or accidents. Some rafts were small, and one was nine boats, bow and stern views above. They only stayed for the day and had a blast with toys, music and lots of kids. It was nice to see people enjoying the holiday.
Limerick and Kindred Spirit in our little two-boat raft up.
So many smaller day boats arrived and anchored off the shore.
One of my favorite things to do on the boat is have my coffee in the cockpit, looking out at the view. What a difference a day makes!

The weather was perfect, my kind of late summer days – sunshine, temperatures in the 70s during the day and 50s-60s at night.

Every day was a beach day!

We had a perfect day for a walk out to the end point of Napatree.

Lots of wonderful views of the sea, the sky, the sand, the grass.

A quiet and peaceful anchorage.

Watch Hill sunsets are spectacular.

The nights are beautiful too.
Watch Hill was a ghost town on the day after the holiday weekend. Some shops have closed for the season but all of them were closed by evening.
EXCEPT ST. CLAIRE’S ANNEX !!! Still open for ice cream!!
It’s not always about ice cream. We shared the opera cake for dessert one evening and the breakfast treats were delish. All from Sift.

And then it was time for us to leave, bringing our cruising adventures with Limerick to an end. For this year.

This is a reversal. It is usually Don and Cindy waving goodby as they depart.
Kindred Spirit heading back to our homeport. A wonderful 6 days, but we feel a bit sad.
